2024 Grant Cycle

Madison Visionary Partners' community impact mini-grant cycle is designed for nonprofits and other eligible organizations that are doing work or would like to do work within the City of Madison.

​

Amounts can be requested from $500 to $2500.  Grants may be funded at a lower amount than requested.

​

Applications are due on February 22, 2024 and funds will be available on March 28, 2024. Funds must be used within a year of receipt. Recipients must credit Madison Visionary Partners in any communication and marketing materials. A marketing package will be included in your grant notification.

​

Recipients of the 2024 Community Impact Grant will be recognized at the Madison Visionary Awards breakfast to be held on Thursday, March 28 at 8:00 a.m. at the SportsMed Club at Toyota Field. A representative from your organization should be present to receive the award. 

​

Grant requests will be approved by the Madison Visionary Partners' Board of Directors and recipients will be notified by March 7.

Eligibility:

​

Eligible organizations are those that are described Code Section 170(c)(2), 501(c)(3), 2055(a)(2) or 2522(a)(2) (except for private foundations as defined by Code Section 509(a)) ("qualified organization”). Organizations must be based in Madison County, Alabama.

​

Grant requests must demonstrate a direct impact on the quality of life in the City of Madison. Applications that do not clearly define this impact will not be approved.

​

Broad categories in which needs exist and for which grant requests are encouraged:

  • Animal Welfare

  • Arts and Humanities

  • Education and Literacy

  • Food, Food Security, Agriculture & Nutrition

  • Health and Safety

  • Housing and Shelter

  • Human Services

  • Workforce Development

Ineligible Requests:

  • Administrative/General Operations

  • Advertising/Sponsorships

  • Annual Campaigns/Endowment Campaigns

  • Debt retirement or restructuring

  • Fundraising events/Fundraising feasibility studies

  • Lobbying activities/Political activities

  • Commissioned studies to educate policymakers and advocates

  • Programs of a religious nature or programs requiring participation in religious activities or adherence to a particular set of beliefs as a condition for receiving services

  • Scholarships, Stipends, or Incentives to participate

  • Trips and/or conference attendance (including registration fees, travel reimbursements, etc.)

  • Annual Budget of Organization

  • Amount Requested

  • Name of Project (this title will also be used in marketing)

  • Brief description of the project

  • Outcomes you plan to achieve

  • Who the project serves

  • How will the funds will be spent? Please include a timeline and total budget (you can also attach the budget separately if preferred). 

  • Please describe how this request will fulfill the goal to enrich the quality of life for the City of Madison? Be sure to demonstrate how this directly impacts the City of Madison.

 

Attachments:

  • A copy of IRS tax determination/eligibility must be attached to the application.
