2025 Community Impact Grant Spotlight: Madison Public Library MakerSpace

The Madison Public Library received a 2025 Community Impact Grant of $1750 to be used towards the purchase of a new laser cutter for the Madison Makerspace.

The Huntsville-Madison County Library Foundation is grateful for its long-lasting partnership with Madison Visionary Partners (MVP). MVP's support has added tremendous value to the Madison Public Library over the years, helping to meet the needs of Madison residents and beyond. 

Madison Public Library, as well as all Huntsville-Madison County Public Library branches, works to stay tech-forward and recognizes how important modern resources are for learning and creativity. Thanks to MVP, the Makerspace Studio at the Madison Public Library was able to purchase a laser cutter and engraver, an exciting tool that can be used for a wide variety of projects. This laser cutter can cut through strong materials such as wood, acrylic, and certain plastics, and it can engrave detailed designs or text onto many surfaces.

The possibilities of what can be created using the laser cutter are endless. Some popular projects include jewelry making, personalized gifts, and home decor. Over the holiday season, many patrons created ornaments and other fun crafts. It's a great resource for anyone who enjoys hands-on projects and skill building.
