Meet the Madison Visionary Partners Board! This month we are highlighting Erica DeSpain.

Erica DeSpain was raised in Madison and moved back in 2018 after her husband served active duty in the Army. She has three daughters in Madison City Schools who keep her busy with their extracurricular activities and busy social lives. She enjoys serving at church, starting each day with a workout, and planning her family's next vacation. Writing and storytelling have been a lifelong passion for Erica, which she enjoys doing through her daily work with All Things Madison.
Why is MVP important to you?
MVP is important to me because it's an active ear to our community's wants and needs. It takes events and projects that may seem optional to some and turns them into reality, enhancing life for visitors and residents alike.
Why do you like living in Madison?
What's not to love? We love living in Madison because it feels safe. The public schools are second to none, the recreation opportunities feel endless, and we absolutely love living somewhere that experiences four true seasons, always right on time.
What is your favorite thing to do in Madison?
Our favorite thing to do in Madison is attend a Trash Pandas game.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself or explain something you enjoy doing outside of work?
My husband and I both have extensive collections of items from around the world. I have a coffee mug from almost every country I've ever visited (12). My husband collects money and has currency from over 16 countries and counting.
Is there a favorite quote or mantra that inspires you?
Do everything with excellence, though do not confuse excellence with perfection. Perfection is nearly impossible to achieve, but pursuing excellence across the board honors all parties involved.
